I was watching television the other day when it struck me that all the English programs were from America.
I like American programs, but I thought it would be nice to see some more variety.
For that reason, I will list some popular Australian shows below.

My first recommendation is Home and Away. I don't particularly like this show, but I think it is useful for studying English used in daily conversation. Most of the language used is repetitive (this is good for learning) and the story can be quite interesting at times.

Remember, you don't need to understand everything for it to be useful study!


Can anyone tell me what it struck me means?

Here is another Australian television program called Neighbours.

In the video, one woman says to the other, "Serves you right."
What does serves you right mean?
