English question: Is it sarcasm or irony? 5 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 1
Today's post is about sarcasm and irony. What are they? How are they different?
The answers to these English questions are posted below!!!

What is sarcasm? Let's start with an example.

Your cute (sarcasm) = your ugly <<< Sarcasm means the opposite of what is said.

Sarcasm is different to irony. Irony is when the opposite of what you intended, happens.
For example, you eat vegetables, don't drink alcohol, don't smoke then die of a heart attack.
More examples can be found at the bottom of this page.

Both Sarcasm and irony can be used for humour.

An example of irony in humour can be seen below

***********************************
Here is a fantastic example of irony titled, "Book banning."

Extra information

The second news is ironic because religious follwers in Texas seek to ban about the
" F 451 " while some students are showing to support for the book.
Ironically and coincidentally, this issue was arised during the natinal banned book
week.

I understand like this. Is it correct? Is that what you wanted to say?
Sorry, I could't understand the first comedy show.

Yes! Your answer was very good!
The first video is quite difficult. When I have time I will explain it.......OR I will remove it and find a better video!!!

Incidentally, fahrenheit 451 is believed to be the temperature at which paper will spontaneously combust (paper will turn into fire at 451 fahrenheit because of the heat). Cool name for a book banning book, yeah??
