TOPIC: ESL expressions: It's my shout and It's on me

ESL expressions: It's my shout and It's on me 5 Months ago Karma: 1
I've written a short conversation between 2 co-workers to illustrate (explain) the use of the English expressions it's my shout, I'll pass and it's on me.

The situation: 2 co-workers (Bob and Sarah) have just finished work. Bob invites Sarah out to go drinking with him.

Bob Do you want to go out for drinks tonight?
Sarah No thanks, I'll pass. I don't have any money.
Bob Come on! I'll shout you!
Sarah Shout me?
Bob Yeah! It's on me.
Sarah Ok, but only if you let me return the favour sometime.
Bob You're on!

1 What does, "I'll pass mean?"
2 What does, "I'll shout you mean?" Note: I'll shout you is not American English. It is used in Australia, New Zealand, and England (Britain). I’ve heard that it is also used in Ireland. I’ll shout you is very similar in meaning to it's on me.

1 I'll pass means I can not go with you this time. I use this phrase in Japanese too. We say "今回はpass します。”
2 I'll shout you and it's on me mean I'll treat you or I'll pay it for you.

From now on, I can use these phrases with a native speaker. Thank you!!

You are welcome!

1 is almost right, but it doesn't necessarily mean we can't go, it means this time (for whatever reason) we won't go. Maybe I can go, but I choose not to go this time.
2 is right on the money! (correct!)

Great job sunflower!
