Australia day is on the 26th of January every year. It is a public holiday in all states and territories of Australia.

Many Australians like to listen to the National radio channel called
Triple J on Australia day. Why? They do this because every year Triple J asks Australians what songs were their favourites for the previous year. On Australia day they countdown the results starting at 100th place and ending at 1st place. If you are interested in watching the results please click here>>
Music videos for the Triple J countdown.
As well as listen to the countdown many Australians like to drink, relax with their friends, and have barbeques or picnics. It is not uncommon for people to go to outdoor music festivals. Music events are not the only events on Australia day. Australia day is also the time for the Australia Day Regatta. The Australian Day Regatta is an annual sailboat race that begins in Sydney then goes to Botany Bay and back. It is the oldest continuously held sailing race in the world.

Unfortunately for me, I didn’t get to do any of these things. I had to go to work!!!!!
