A popular food in Australia is Vegemite. Vegemite looks like chocolate, so people often think that it is sweet; However, Vegemite IS NOT sweet. Vegemite is very salty. So how do you eat Vegemite? Usually Vegemite is eaten on toast, but you can also eat it on biscuits.

How to eat Vegemite on toast.

What you will need: A slice of bread, a knife, a toaster, some vegemite and a plate.


First put the bread in the toaster. Next cook the bread until it has gone brown.
After that, put it on a plate. While the toast is still hot, spread on margarine. The margarine will melt on the toast.
Next, spread a small amount of vegemite on the toast. It should mix with the margarine. Don’t use a lot of vegemite!
Last, take a big bite!

How to eat Vegemite on biscuits.
What you will need: A biscuit, a knife, a toaster, some vegemite and a plate.

First, spread some margarine onto a biscuit.

After that, spread a small amount of Vegemite onto your biscuit.

(Optional step) If you want, you can add a thin slice of cheese to your biscuit.
Last, dig in! (Dig in means start eating)

I have been given a tube of vegimite as a souvenir, but I could never finish it. a)I didn't fancy the taste of it. b)I eat rice and miso soup in the monrnig and I hardly ever eat toast for brekkie!!!!
I know it is very healthy but even though I can't be liking it. It is just like natto/ fermented soy beans!
